Boldin sits out practice, could miss Giants game

Arizona wide receiver Anquan Boldin remained uncertain for Sunday nights game against the New York Giants with a sprained ankle after sitting out the Cardinals practice on Wednesday.

Hes doing all right, coach Ken Whisenhunt said. Hes further along than I thought he would be as far as the rehab of the ankle is going, but those ankles you never know, so well see how it progresses during the week.

The three-time Pro Bowl receiver sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of Arizonas 27-3 victory at Seattle on Sunday. He returned to play in the third quarter before coming out with his team comfortably ahead.

X-rays after the game showed no broken bones.

Steve Breaston would move into the No. 2 receiver spot, as he has done several times when Boldin was injured. Breaston caught seven passes for 77 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks.

I dont know if Ive seen many better catches than that one that he had on Sunday, quarterback Kurt Warner said. It was just phenomenal. He confidently went up, didnt worry about getting hit, scooped the ball up and came down for a touchdown.

Breaston was limited in practice on Wednesday because of lingering soreness in his knee, which he injured in the preseason.

Tight end Stephen Spach missed practice, also with a sprained ankle. Rookie running back Beanie Wells was limited with a sore hip.
