Pumpkin Shell wins Aqueducts Busanda Stakes
Pumpkin Shell rallied from last to beat Chocolate Pop by one length Saturday in the $72,020 Busanda Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at snowy Aqueduct.
Ninth for the first half-mile, Pumpkin Shell got into contention with a strong inside move before splitting rivals in the stretch to secure her second straight win.
When I called on her and that hole opened up, she just went right through it, said jockey Chuckie Lopez.
The time was 1:42.30 for the one mile, 70 yards on the fast track.
Trained by David Donk, Pumpkin Shell paid $26.80, $10.80 and $6.10. Chocolate Pop returned $4.80 and $3.50. Dont Forget Gil paid $6.40 to show.
